Publishers of HR News Canada and HR Law Canada bring together privacy regulators, employment lawyers, and organizational leaders to tackle AI governance, bias, and transformation in the Canadian workplace
KINGSVILLE, Ont. April 2, 2026 — North Wall Media, publisher of HR News Canada and HR Law Canada, today announced Artificial Intelligence Talks 2026, a special half-day virtual conference bringing together Canada’s top executives, HR leaders, employment lawyers, and regulatory experts for an afternoon of practical, forward-looking insights on AI in the workplace.
The event, hosted entirely online, runs from 1 p.m. to 5:05 p.m. ET and is designed to help organizations navigate the promises and pitfalls of artificial intelligence — from privacy compliance and algorithmic bias to change management and governance strategy.
“We’re at an inflection point,” said Todd Humber, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of North Wall Media. “Organizations are deploying AI faster than they’re building the guardrails to manage it. This event is our answer to that challenge — a focused, practical afternoon with the people who are actually working through these problems in Canada right now.”
The Schedule
The conference opens at 1 p.m. with welcome remarks from Todd Humber, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of North Wall Media, followed by five sessions:
1:05 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. | CHRO & Executive Roundtable
Moderated by Amy Davies, Founder of First30, this opening session brings together senior leaders to discuss the real-world challenges of leading organizations through AI transformation. Panelists to be announced.
1:50 p.m. – 2:35 p.m. | AI in the Workplace
Manu Singh, Chief Information Officer, and Michael Maguire, Executive Director of Compliance Promotion and Engagement, both of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, will discuss how to implement AI responsibly — achieving efficiencies while protecting privacy and building employee trust. They will also share how the OPC itself is deploying AI to further its mandate.
2:35 p.m. – 2:50 p.m. | Break
2:50 p.m. – 3:35 p.m. | AI Failure – How Human-Centred Change Management Is Integral in AI Transformation Success
Larissa Currah, Founder of LC People Consulting, will examine why so many AI initiatives are failing to deliver return on investment — and how a human-centred approach can turn the tide. Drawing on MIT’s State of AI in Business 2025 report, which found that 95% of organizations were getting zero return despite significant enterprise investment in generative AI, Currah will offer a framework for rebuilding employee trust and realizing the full potential of AI transformation.
3:35 p.m. – 4:20 p.m. | Human-Centred AI: Governance, Risk & Strategy for the Future of Work
Wylie Burke, Principal Consultant at Wylie Burke Consulting, will lead a deep dive into responsible AI adoption — covering the federal regulatory landscape in Canada, emerging governance frameworks, data privacy, employee surveillance concerns, and the growing impact of AI agents on the future of work.
4:20 p.m. – 5:05 p.m. | Algorithmic AI Bias Auditing for Recruitment
Jessica Kearsey, Partner in Employment Law at KPMG Law, will examine the growing imperative for employers to audit AI-powered recruitment tools for algorithmic bias. While mandatory in several U.S. states, Canadian employers are increasingly expected to scrutinize how their screening tools treat candidates from protected groups.
“The lineup we’ve assembled reflects the breadth of what Canadian organizations are grappling with right now,” said Humber. “From the federal privacy regulator to employment lawyers to change management experts — this is the conversation that HR leaders need to be part of.”
Calling All CHROs and Senior Executives
North Wall Media is currently seeking CHROs and senior executives to join the opening roundtable panel, moderated by Amy Davies of First30. The session is an opportunity to share your organization’s real-world experience with AI adoption in a high-profile, peer-focused setting.
“We want this roundtable to be genuinely useful,” said Humber. “That means hearing from leaders who are in the trenches — who have made the tough calls, learned some hard lessons, and have real insight to share with their peers. If that’s you, we want you on this panel.”
Senior leaders interested in participating are encouraged to contact Todd Humber at todd.humber@northwallmedia.com.
Sponsorship Opportunities Available
A limited number of sponsorship packages are available for Artificial Intelligence Talks 2026. The event provides sponsors with direct access to a highly engaged audience of HR professionals, employment lawyers, and senior organizational leaders across Canada.
“This event is a unique platform for organizations that want to be part of the most important workplace conversation happening in Canada right now,” said Humber. “We’re offering sponsors the chance to align their brand with thought leadership that will genuinely move the needle.”
